St Helens Parish Church
St Helens Parish Church is a growing, evangelical church based in the town centre of St Helens in Merseyside. With a broad age range and several Missional communities, the church is dedicated to making disciples and being God's family in the heart of St Helens.
Recently we have become part of a Resource Church Initiative by the Church of England called Transform Northwest, and we are excited by the opportunities this will bring for potential internships. Interns at St Helens will get the chance to be involved in pioneering a movement and to learn from experienced missional leaders as they seek to transform the North West.
About St Helens
St Helens is a large town in North West England, not far from either Manchester or Liverpool. As well as having strong, well established links with our church school, there is a large technical college, a thriving social centre and of course our world class rugby league team.
About the Internship
We make up part of Form Northwest alongside Frontline Church Liverpool, and we come together for teaching days on a Tuesday, meeting in one location or the other. Ministry Internships take place across the week, and you will get the opportunity to be involved and serve in the various areas of ministry across the church: Young Adults, Youth, Children, Worship, Social Media and Transform Northwest. You will find family connections amongst one of our Missional Communities where you can belong and be supported by fellow believers as you grow over the course of the year.
Jack Weaver has been serving as Young Adult Leader since September 2017 and co-leads Form Northwest. He will lead your internship in St Helens and will spend time discipling you alongside other St Helens interns and investing in your growth over the course of the Form year. Jack previously completed Form and Form 2 in Sheffield and as a result is passionate about seeing Young Adults grow to become more like Jesus and step into their identity in Christ.
Jack loves to play basketball and drums, drink coffee and read books.
Rev. David Eastwood
David Eastwood is the vicar at the Parish Church; he is married to Monica and they have two daughters, Katherine and Beth who both live in Sheffield.
David has been leading the Parish church for over 6 years and his heart is to see the church grow and be transformed by making disciples of Jesus Christ who become dedicated to Him, devoted to one another, and who demonstrate God’s love in St Helens and the world.
